In reply to JUDY WILLIAMS. The British Red Cross lend out wheelchairs on
short term loan, attendant pushed wheelchairs and also self propelled
wheelchairs also. Hope this is helpful. The Disability Living Centre (if
one nearby) also rent out wheelchairs short term. Sorry don't have
telephone numbers.
In reply to email by TOM - All job centres have disability
employment officers assisting all persons with any disability to
return to training or employment. You need to telephone to make an appt
with them. They can refer you, and give advice about all the
available agencies in the area. Some really good services I have
accessed with client's are: WORK DIRECTIONS in Birmingham City
Centre on New Street. There is also the Birmingham Disability
Resource Centre, Bierton Road, Yardley, B25 8PQ. Tel: 789 7365.
Email at
bdrc@disability.co.uk Sorry don't have Workdirections telephone
number but can get it via directory enquiries.
